Microsoft Teams is one of the most used collaboration tools, and it’s no surprise to see that it has various integrations.
Speaking of which, it seems that ServiceNow is teaming up with Microsoft, so let’s take a closer look at this partnership.
You can now access Now Assist right from Microsoft Teams
As Techzine writes, Microsoft and ServiceNow have teamed up to bring the Now Assist feature to Microsoft Teams. This allows you to ask questions right in Teams simply by writing NowAssist before the prompt.
This will allow all employees to access data and workflows natively from Microsoft Teams. It’s still not entirely clear how this is achieved, but it’s assumed that ServiceNow uses GraphAPIs from Teams and Sharepoint.
Currently, it doesn’t seem that data privacy and cloud requirements from European organizations have been fully considered.
It’s also not clear how much control customers have over where their data is processed, however, both Microsoft and ServiceNow stated that data isn’t being shared with LLMs.
Lastly, we have to mention ServiceNow integration with Microsoft 365 which allows users to convert data to a PowerPoint presentation.
Of course, we expect to see Word and Excel integrations available soon. That’s not all, as Microsoft Teams will allow you to change the name of the general channel in the near future.
Another upcoming feature is file image preview in chats and channels, and we expect to see it next month.
