Microsoft Edge will show you search suggestions based on the content you looked for

If you’ve been using Edge PWA (progressive web application), then you’ll want to hear this: Microsoft is testing a new feature on Edge that will show you search suggestions based on the content you’re interested in directly in the title bar of the PWA.

This new option was discovered by tech enthusiast @Leopeva64, and it seems that the Redmond-based tech giant won’t make it a mandatory one. You’ll still be able to disable it directly from Edge’s Settings page.

The tech enthusiast posted a few examples where the PWA started to show specific suggestions related to content searched before. If you’ve been looking at daily shows, Edge will show you suggestions related to daily shows, and it will allow you to click on the button to start the search for related content.

The description of the setting to enable/disable the feature makes it more clear:

Search suggestions. Get suggestions from content that may interest you. Seamlessly search for relevant keywords in the side panel without interrupting your viewing.

This means browsing on Edge PWA could become a smoother experience, as the intention is to create a seamless internet browsing experience.

The new option has been spotted in Edge Canary, meaning it will be released to the general audience in a few weeks.

This wouldn’t be the first feature spotted recently that provides such a seamless experience: Windows Share was also spotted by the same tech enthusiast, and it’s coming back to Microsoft Edge, after 3 years.

As the capability has gained more ground in Windows 11, going as far as being enhanced with a QR code, it’s only natural that the Redmond-based tech giant would bring it back.

However, for now, Microsoft is still testing it, so it might not be released to the stable channel, ultimately. But one can hope, right?
