You'll soon be able to perform device management directly in the Microsoft Teams Admin Center

It’s no surprise Microsoft wants to enhance Teams to allow admins and managers to perform management on the platform, as well: let’s just take, for instance, a recent addition to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, unveiled that the Redmond-based tech giant will allow admins to manage the deployment of each app in the platform, individually.

The new method will ensure the Teams environment is aligned, while also providing a safer and more secure infrastructure.

But, Microsoft is not stopping here. Another entry to the Microsoft 356 Roadmap that was recently added says that the company wants to allow admins, and managers to cancel scheduled device operations through Teams admin center.

In other words, you’ll be able to perform device management directly in the Microsoft Teams Admin Center. This could allow the handling of specific situations such as canceling operations when they are no longer needed.

Microsoft says updates to various devices from the organization can be canceled, as well as canceling specific actions such as restarting a device.

If a device operation is no longer required, admins will be able to cancel scheduled device operations like, Software update and device restart, through Teams admin center.

Performing device management directly from the Teams Admin Center could be an easier way to deal with unexpected situations or outdated devices.

If certain updates are no longer needed, or some devices are scheduled for automatic restart, these actions can now be canceled directly from here, without having to access other platforms, such as Intune, for instance.

According to the Roadmap, this new enhancement will be added to the Microsoft Teams Admin Center in June 2024, and it will be generally available on the web version of the platform.
