Cyberattacks are constantly occurring, therefore companies must be able to address them properly.
According to Microsoft’s report, things aren’t looking too well for the UK business, and here’s why.
Only 13% of UK businesses are resilient to cybercrime
As TechRadar writes, Microsoft has conducted research and found that 87% of UK businesses aren’t ready to handle cyberattacks.
According to Microsoft, 48% are ranked as vulnerable while 39% are high-risk targets. Hackers are using AI for cyberattacks, and companies need to adapt properly to handle these new threats.
Paul Kelly, Director of the Security Business Group at Microsoft UK said the following:
The same AI technologies can help leaders better secure their organisation and tip the balance back in their favour. AI has the potential to make your business and data more secure, but also, if a cyberattack were to occur, to lessen the impact on your bottom line.
The research also listed a few guidelines for the UK to become an AI and cybersecurity superpower:
- Better support for implementing AI in the cybersecurity industry.
- Improved guidance when it comes to the adoption of AI in both private and public sectors.
- More investment and prioritization of AI solutions focusing on buy and build and off-the-shelf solutions.
- Proper education of employees via partnerships with academic institutions.
- Improved research and sharing the research data with the private sector to better utilize the expertise of experts.
This is unfortunate news for the UK, but with the new pricing model for Copilot for Security, some companies can already start incorporating AI into their security system.
While Microsoft is doing its best to combat online threats, it seems that Microsoft might lose government customers due to security breaches, and we hope that the company will be able to address those issues.
